Fabric Flower Tutorial

I have been wanting to make a couple of fabric flowers lately, but just haven't. I finally cut up some old clothes and spent the 5 minutes to do it. Here is a quick tutorial on how I made them. I know there are a ton of different ways to do them, but this was the quickest and easiest.

In a couple of days I will show you the frame that I put these flowers on so that you can see what I have been working on.

My new addiction...

I love finding new sites that have great ideas that I would actually use.

Make It and Love It is seriously a site where I could Make it and love it.

She does everything from lengthening the hem line on a dress to cake decorating tutorials, to glass etching, recipes, and even decorating.

Sunday's Sermon

My procrastination actually paid of today. I have something wonderful to share with you.
Today at Church on of our lessons was based on a General Conference Address by Donald Hallstrom titled ' Turn to the Lord'.

I really felt the spirit while the teacher was speaking.

The quote that I like the most was ' Don't let an earthly circumstance affect your spirituality.'

How often have we heard of someone getting offended at church and not coming back or letting the death of a loved one affect cause them to start drinking or the circumstance of divorce cause them to not come back to church.

I don't ever want to be a person who lets an earthly challenge come in the way of or affect my eternal life. And I was reminded of that today. Thank goodness for wonderful teachers who are in tune with the spirit.

Here is another quote from the talk.

'In the most difficult circumstances of life, there is often only one source of peace. The Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, extends His grace with the invitation “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). He further promises, “My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you” (John 14:27).'

Rainbow Party

Sorry I haven't posted much this week. I have been busy with family in town and working on my daughters 5th birthday party.
I had great aspirations for this party and I ran out of money. Luckily the one thing that turned out how I had planned were the cupcakes.
I love how they turned out.

Dream Master....

I am obsessed with this Master Bedroom. I LOVE it! I can't get enough of looking at it.
Not only do I love the textures but I LUUUUVE the color, the size and shape of the room (okay, that might not be something that I can duplicate) and of coarse the furniture. Take a look....


I think my favorite thing is the combination of the light blue, navy blue and yellow. I am totally changing the colors of my master bedroom now. And this is what I am basing it off of. Do you think I can pull it off in my tiny little bedroom?

PS...if you are in love with the tufted comforter like me, Walmart currently has a line of them in the Better Homes and Gardens line. The only problem for me is that they don't have that light blue that I love.

Menu Planning Monday

This week is a weird week. The Food budget is gone for the next two weeks, so we will be eating our of our food storage. My mom will also be in town with my brother and his friend, so I don't know what to expect. I am sure we will end up eating out with them a night or two. But here is the tentative plan.

Monday - Bisquick Pancakes

Tuesday - Italian Cream Cheese Chicken in the Crockpot

Wednesday - Cafe Rio Pork Quasilinear

Thursday - Chicken Salad Sandwiches
